Our Role in Economic Development

The City of Fulshear acts as a catalyst for economic development through the efforts of our two economic development corporations and dedicated economic development team.

To achieve our shared vision and guiding principles, we promote the strategic investment of resources into high-priority areas and high-impact projects. We assist developers, brokers, site selectors, and businesses in identifying, evaluating, and realizing opportunities in Fulshear and serve as a partner and a guide throughout this process.

Learn More About Our EDC Boards

The City of Fulshear has two economic development corporations (EDCs) that are each funded by a half-cent sales tax. The City of Fulshear Development Corporation (CDC) is a Type A sales tax corporation, and the Fulshear Development Corporation (FDC) is a Type B. Though each corporation has its own board of directors, both EDCs operate and collaborate under a unified economic development strategy.

Partners & Friends

Fulshear is an ever-engaged partner with numerous economic development partners – and increasingly so. For starters, Fulshear actively works with its ever-growing local chamber, the Fulshear Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, for business development and community events throughout the year.Fulshear works with these partners for business development and lead generation: Katy Area Economic Development Council Fort Bend Economic Development Council Greater Houston Partnership State of Texas Governor’s Office of Economic Development Fulshear also continues to develop a repertoire of support service providers for small businesses. In addition to FKACC, there are the Houston District of the Small Business Administration and the Fort Bend County Small Business Development Center through the University of Houston. Fulshear also works with all aforementioned partners to provide our local small businesses with access to training, employment, grant, and loan programs as they become available.
